Photo Expo 2024

The Photo Expo 2024 is your opportunity to showcase your photographic creativity and professionalism in a gallery setting.

Who Can Participate: The Photo Expo 2024 is open to all photographers in East Tennessee. The maximum number of prints that will be accepted (depending on print sizes) is approximately 60 photographs.

Judging: We will have a professional art judge that will determine Best In Show, 1st Place, and 2nd Place awards. While there are no monetary awards, however there will be winners certificates.

Exhibitor’s QR Codes: There will be QR codes on display that will allow people to go directly to the photographer’s website as they are viewing the art.

Preparation of Prints: Entries to the Expo must be professionally presented. Prints on paper must be framed. Matting is optional. Canvas prints must have a finished edge. Photos can be printed on any medium (acrylic, canvas, metal, glass, wood, photo paper, etc.) Prints must be ready to hang with a wired hanging setup (no saw tooth hangers).

There are no size restrictions or specific height and width ratio requirements. All images must be suitable for a family-friendly gallery.

What Information to Put on Back of Prints:
Information about you and your print must be permanently attached on the back of each entry. Your contact information should include your name, email address, phone, and (optionally) social media information. Print information must include name of the print, size , and price. If the print is not for sale, mark it as “NFS”, but include the insurance value of the print.

Entry Fee: The entry fee is $10 per photograph with a maximum limit of three entries per photographer. PPETN would like to showcase as many photographers as possible. Depending on the number of photographers who respond, we may reduce the number of photographs accepted per photographer. The entry fee is paid when you deliver your print on May 4, 2024, between 11:00 Am and 1:00 PM.

Submission Process: Photographer and print information must be submitted online by midnight April 12, 2024. Please include a jpeg image of your prints. Photos will be reviewed on a simple “Accepted / Not Accepted” basis. We will notify each photographer about acceptance into the Expo within 3 days. Entry costs will only be incurred for prints that are delivered on May 4.

The Exhibition is at the Rarity Bay Gallery located in the Rarity Bay Community Center (CAC) 150 Rarity Bay Parkway Vonore, TN 37885, The Photo Expo is for the months of May and June, 2024.

SUMMARY OF IMPORTANT DATES:

  • April 12, 2024 at midnight: Last day to complete the application form with information on the prints you intend to exhibit. We prefer you to enter this info as soon as possible and not wait until the last minute.
  • May 4, 2024, between 11:00 AM to 1:00 AM: Deliver your photography to the Art Gallery in the Rarity Bay Community Activity Center 150 Rarity Bay Parkway Vonore, TN 37885. If you cannot make this date, arrange for another photographer to deliver your work OR contact Jack Retterer at 630-460-5390 or [email protected] to make special arrangements.
  • May 19, 2024 between 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM: The Photographers’ Reception. All participants are encouraged to attend the reception and help market the event to the public.
  • June 29. 2024: Remove photographs from the Gallery 10 AM to Noon.
