Oct 11th – The Reserve at Bluebird Hill Shootout

Our October PPETN meeting will be held on our regular meeting date, Thursday October 11 and is planned as a photo safari at one of the areas newest premier wedding and event centers, The Reserve at Bluebird Hill. Check out the website for an overview and directions to the site. The address is: 1411 Midway Rd  Lenoir City, TN  37772. This event is being held at no cost, for the benefit of our “dues paid” PPETN members. New members are also welcome if your dues are paid in advance – click here to join.

Although there is no cost, reservations are required if you plan to bring your camera to shoot, so we know in advance how many to expect and can be sure we have enough models to make the evening meaningful for everyone. Those who participate will be required to submit digital files with a limited release of at least three images (more if you want to!) which will be provided on a DVD to The Reserve at Bluebird Hill in exchange for the use of the facility.

We will have the opportunity to utilize two very different venues on the same property for an assortment of photo opportunities, as the original use of the property was Noah’s Ark Riding Academy. Links to both websites are below.

We will get underway at 5:00 p.m. at the Noah’s Ark Horse Barn and shoot for roughly 2 1/2 hours. We will end up at the Pavilion on Bluebird Hill. A wedding rehearsal will be taking place at that site early so we will move there once that is finished. Please respect that event and do not go to the top of the hill until we are cleared to do so.Sunset will occur at 7:05 p.m. and we will have this event rain or shine. Models will include a 3-year old child, a couple for casual engagement shots, some HS seniors and various others. If you have suggestions for a model or models you think would be a good fit for this event, please contact Ambler Brown or Carla Hoskins before you talk to the model. After we finish our photography, we will adjourn to Little Joe’s Pizza on Kingston Pike at the intersection of Watt Road, just east of Dixie Lee Junction. Our monthly 8×10 print competition will be held, so members be sure to bring your images!
