 Deborah Lynn, of Deborah Lynn Portraits has a love for working with children. After leaving a career as an Undercover Police Officer to raise her three children, she has followed her dream and opened a High-End Portrait Studio in Arden North Carolina May of 2013. She uses her talent to design storytelling sets for portraits for children and Adults that are custom to her clients needs. During the program she will discuss the steps from the consultation to designing the set to the finished portrait, accomplishing the clients desire for their Heirloom portrait.

She creates beautiful paintings from her images that become treasured wall portraits in homes all across the country. Her unique style of photo-realistic paintings, combined with her classic imagery, has set her apart from other photographers. Deborah Lynn specializes in Families, Business Executives, Maternity, Children and High School Seniors. She began her business in 2008 in her home and opened her new High-End Studio in May 2013. Deborah Lynn’s studio is one of the few that offers classic portraits, oil and watercolor painted wall portraits, specially designed for the customer’s office and home.

Deborah Lynn believes strongly in giving back to the Asheville community as the Area coordinator for Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep, she coordinates portrait sessions for families who have lost a child at birth and founded a ministry starting schools in the slums of India called Train Up The Children, which helps provide an education children to get them out of the slums.

Deborah Lynn’s photography has been nationally recognized by the Professional Photographers of America. Her portrait “Gone Sailing” was selected for the 2012 PPA Showcase Book. She won 2nd place in the Commercial General with a traveling Loan collection for Professional Photographers of North Carolina and Distinguished  for Seppa 2013 Print Competition.

Monthly 8×10 Competition

Our “Photographer of the Year” is awarded based on your monthly print votes and pays for our annual scholorship! So make sure to bring your prints in for submitting. You might be this year’s “Photographer of the Year!”  Studio, Active, and Aspiring members may submit to the competition.  Studio and Active members may vote in the competitions.

PPETN members may bring 8×10 prints to the competition each month. The cost is $3 per print. Members must bring on a thumb drive or CD a digital copy of the image to the meeting.  Points towards our annual “Photographer of the Year” will be awarded once we receive digital versions for submitting on our blog.  Any winning images will be posted on the website with back links to your website.  This will help with your SEO (search engine optimization)!

Meetings are generally held at Calhoun’s on Bearden Hill at 6515 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919 on the 1st Thursday after the 2nd Monday each month. 6:00 P.M. gathering, fellowship & Dutch dinner. 8×10 print competition starts at 6:30 P.M. Programs 7:00 – 9:00 P.M. unless otherwise noted above.

Meeting Cost (excluding food):

  • PPETN Members: Free
  • Non-Members: $20.00 (first visit is free)
