How to Start and Run a Photography Business
presented by Charles Garvey
This interactive talk will focus on opening and running a photography business. In these tumultuous times, the business model for a successful photography business seems to constantly be changing, but there are business basics that have remained the same throughout time – proper business licenses, insurance, liability, legal business structures, taxes, professional conduct, product quality, customer service and more. Additionally, time may be set aside for issues such as marketing, digital usage or other questions you may have. This free flowing and interactive presentation will be fun and enjoyable.
Charles Garvey has run a successful full-time Knoxville photography business for over 31 years. He holds the Photographic Craftsman degree from PPA, and the TPPA Service and Certified degree. He is a past president of Smoky Mountain PP, now PPETN, and past president of Tennessee’s Professional Photographer’s Association (TNPPA). He holds PPA’s National Award, The Southeastern Award, and was inducted into TNPPA’s Hall of Fame in 2008. Charles will be discussing the photography business from his experience as a successful photography business owner. Check out his website.
