About the Association

The Professional Photographers of East Tennessee (PPETN) is East Tennessee’s official professional photography trade organization. PPETN is more than a local camera club, photography group, or discussion forum—it is an established not-for-profit organization promoting professionalism, advancement, and cooperation in photography throughout the region. PPETN membership consists of the area’s top photographers dedicated to providing the highest quality imagery, customer service, and products.

PPETN’s Mission

The two primary purposes of this organization are:

  1. To promote the exchange of ideas and techniques as related to photography.
  2. To maintain the highest degree of professional standards in photography.

About PPETN Photography Events

PPETN organizes monthly events to provide opportunities for education, support, and community for photographers in East Tennessee.

Events are designed to benefit all levels of photographers, and members get an annual pass to attend all standard events at no cost. Types of events include:

  • Seminars by industry leaders and nationally-recognized speakers
  • Workshops to practice and develop new skills, techniques, or styles (often in correlation with topics covered in seminars)
  • Socials to build professional and personal relationships and networks
  • Competitions and awards ceremonies
  • Photo Walks
  • …and more!

Associations

PPETN is also a community network partner with the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), and cross promotes with the Tennessee Professional Photographers Association (TNPPA). These partnerships allow PPETN to provide East Tennessee’s professional photographers access to many opportunities and benefits that otherwise would not be available.

Organizational Foundation

PPETN was founded with a set of bylaws that serve as a foundation for the operation and future of this association. Over the years, it has been amended and updated to guide the association better and serve PPETN members and the profession.

Financial Status

PPETN’s financial status is in good standing, and a copy of the PPETN Financial Statement is available to any member upon request. Requests should be made to the Treasurer, whose contact information is on the Membership Page in the Board of Directors section.
