Please join us on Thursday, October 14th, for our October Monthly Meeting. Our guest speaker will be Liz Vance of Oh Baby Photography. She will be speaking on newborn photography!
The ABC’s of Newborn Photography
The most beautiful baby in the world was just born, according to the new parents, and they want pictures. In the ABC’s of Newborn Photography, you’ll learn everything you need to know about newborn portrait sessions and how to create images that those new parents will cry over. We’ll discuss finding newborns to photograph, how to prepare your studio (or their home) for the session, posing, and final products.
Liz Vance has been working as a photographer in the Washington, DC metro area since 1987. Liz was just beginning to be known for her fine art and documentary work while living and working in Boston in the early 1990s, when she got her first taste of studio work while assisting in a busy portrait studio in Quincy, MA. She almost lived in Guatemala, Antarctica, NYC, and Paris (in reverse order). That was the plan. Thankfully, life intervened, and instead, she moved back to DC and established a small boutique studio specializing in fine art maternity and newborn portraits. On a personal note, she practically mainlines coffee, and has been known to give lovely things to the clients who bring her a Starbucks triple venti nonfat no whip mocha. Hint hint hint.
Liz is a member of the Virginia Professional Photographers Association (VPPA), The Southeast Professional Photographers Association (SEPPA), and a certified member of the Professional Photographers of America. And just to prove a point in a discussion at a long ago party with now-forgotten acquaintances, technically, Liz is also legally allowed to marry you. Apparently, anyone can be ordained as a minister for $5 and an online application.
