Basic Info

The October 2015 meeting for the Professional Photographers of East Tennessee (PPETN) will be Thursday, October 15 at Cades Cove in Townsend, Tennessee. Attendees are encouraged to attend our Pro Photographers’ Social + Dutch Dinner directly after the safari and workshop in Townsend (location T.B.D.). There will not be a Laughlin Print Photography Competition this month.

Pro Photographers’ Social + Dutch Dinner

Attendees are encouraged to get together for a social and dutch dinner in Townsend after the safari and workshop. This is a time for all pro photographers in East Tennessee—young and old, new and experienced—to get together and network, socialize, and have fun with their peers.

Pro Photo Safari + Workshop: Wildlife & Landscapes

Presented by Tyson Smith and Eddie Foley

Join us on a safari we drive a few loops around Cades Cove in search of the wildlife and fall colors that make The Cove such an attraction to tourists from around the globe!

We will meet at 2:00 P.M. in the Cades Cove parking lot. From there we will break down into two groups, possibly more for a photo safari.

Our own Tyson Smith will lead a group, and Eddie Foley will lead another group to photograph some of the wildlife that lives in The Cove, as well as pass on tips and advice about wildlife and nature photography in general.

Safari should last until it is too dark to shoot. We plan to grab something to eat when we are done at one of the restaurants in Townsend.

Each photographer will be asked to submit images from the safari and workshop for publication on the PPETN.com website. This is not a requirement for attendance, but an opportunity to get new work published and share the great experiences PPETN provides!

If you have questions or concerns, please direct them to Eddie Foley via email (email Eddie).

Laughlin Print Photography Competition

The Pro’s Choice “East Tennessee Photographer of the Month” is awarded based on the votes of fellow professional photographers and pays for PPETN’s annual scholarship.

There will be no Laughlin Print Photography Competition this month to allow for more shooting time at Cades Cove.

PPETN Door Prizes

PPETN tries to give away door prizes at our monthly events (last year, PPETN gave away hundreds of dollars worth of gear and equipment)—all you have to do is be present to win! Door prizes have been generously donated to PPETN by featured speakers, local and national photography labs, education companies, and equipment manufacturers.

There will be no Door Prizes this month, either. Focus on grabbing a stellar new shot!
