Scholarship History & Details
The Michael Laughlin scholarship was founded in recognition of former PPETN member Michael Laughlin’s never-ending willingness to share his knowledge of the trade. His skill set was widely recognized as a photographer and a business person.
Each year, when able, PPETN recognizes a member in Michael’s name and awards them a $500 scholarship towards a photography school of the applicant’s choice. The scholarship is paid for by the revenue that is generated by the monthly print competitions.
To apply you must:
- Be a member for at least one year
- Be a member in good standing
- Attend seven out of the twelve monthly meetings in the last calendar year
- Not already be a PPA “Master of Photography”
Applications must be received by PPETN’s president by September 1, 2014. Any applications that do not fit this criteria or have been submitted after September 1, 2014 will not be processed.

You will receive an email confirmation that it was received. If you do not get a confirmation, email Ambler prior to September 1, 2014.
The PPETN Board of Directors will meet to vote for the beneficiary (no board member may vote for themselves) and the decision will be announced at the December annual awards banquet.
The scholarship will have to be used by the following calendar year.
